Dental Anxiety

Each patient is unique. Our dentists are trained to provide a variety of protocols to meet your individual needs. Following a thorough medical history and oral exam, our doctors will determine the safest and most effective way to get the smile you’ve always wanted.

Medicines that help you relax while in the dental chair can be taken in a variety of ways, including by mouth, under the tongue, and even inhaled through the nose. The majority of patients receiving sedation within a dental office will take the medication orally. In fact, millions of oral sedatives are prescribed by doctors every day.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide inhalation is one of the mildest categories of sedation. Patients may feel tingling in their toes and fingers, or maybe just a sense of relaxation. However, patients will continue to be alert and awake. Once inhalation is discontinued the effects end also, usually within seconds.

Nitrous oxide sedation carries few if any side effects and produces no known allergic response. For these reasons, it makes a nearly ideal form of anxiety relief in the contemporary dental office. Depending on your specific treatment, our dentists may provide nitrous oxide in combination with oral sedatives.

Oral Sedation

Patients love the benefits of oral sedation. You are responsive the whole time and communicate freely. What patients like most is the amnesia effect. You simply don’t remember the sights and sounds that come with a visit to the dentist. In fact, hours seem like minutes. The goal is to make you totally comfortable while keeping you safe for the best dental visit you’ll ever have. Our highly trained team takes the best care of you too! You’re never left alone and all of your needs are met.

Our patients tell us, the next day is wonderful – their mouth is totally comfortable, they feel energized and, best of all, they get to show off their new smile.
